Wagner Law is like a lean machine that runs from the hard work and dedication of one attorney (Megan), one paralegal, and a receptionist. Because the overhead costs of Wagner Law are low, our clients are able to receive access to quality legal services without completely compromising their finances in the process. It is our goal to serve your legal needs through the many changing seasons of life.
Megan Wagner Cox was sworn into the Illinois Bar in May 2014 and has practiced law part- and full-time ever since. She has gained a wide variety of skills in various types of law. It was Megan's passion to serve low-income populations and she did internships and held positions in a few different legal aid agencies, including Prairie State Legal Services (PSLS) and Administer Justice. Megan also volunteers with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS) as a Guardian ad Litem for minor children and has volunteered as an attorney for the Chinese American Service League (CASL).
Megan attended the DePaul University College of Law in Chicago*, where she was a board member for the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA) and a member of the DePaul Law Review. Prior to law school, Megan earned her Paralegal Certificate from Elgin Community College and attended Judson University in Elgin, Illinois where she double-majored in Secondary Education: Social Studies, and History. She has spent years in the classroom as a Teacher working with teenagers and has a passion for helping young people find their voice as they develop into adults. Megan began her career as an educator by working as the Educational Director of a Huntington Learning Center where she developed personalized tutoring plans for students in grades K-college.
Megan is a native of Aurora, Illinois - where she currently has her home office. She and her husband are the proud parents of four children. Megan founded WAGNER LAW because she hopes to be an easily accessible attorney to an under-served population of middle-income individuals who are often intimidated by the heavy costs of larger law firms. At the same time, Megan has seen those same individuals be disqualified from obtaining free legal services through legal aid because of their mid-income level. After years of seeing self-represented litigants be short-changed by the system as they do their best to represent themselves pro se, Megan takes it to heart when potential clients level with her about their goals - both legally speaking and financially speaking. She is conscious of her client's resources and works with each individual case to balance her clients' needs.
Most importantly, Megan wants her clients to know that she sees them and she cares about them and their families. It is Megan's firm personal belief that Jesus is grieved when his people are burdened, and celebrates when his people are treated fairly and justly.
